Hainan Airlines makes successful maiden flight for Haikou-Hong Kong route

Source:

Hainan Airlines’ flight Haikou-Hong Kong HU703 took off at Haikou Meilan International Airport at 13:32 on November 16, marking that Meilan Airport’s international and regional air passenger services were officially resumed. This is the first international/regional scheduled air passenger route resumed by Hainan Province since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is also a new flight route opened by Hainan Airlines. It is reported that the Haikou-Hong Kong route is scheduled to operate a round-trip flight every Wednesday. For the outbound voyage, it is scheduled to depart from Haikou Airport at 13:25 and arrive in Hong Kong at 14:45. For the return trip, it is scheduled to depart from Hong Kong at 16:15 and arrive in Haikou at 17:40. The one-way flight takes about 1.5 hours.

To facilitate China’s passengers flying to Haikou en route to Hong Kong, Hainan Airlines works with other airlines affiliated to Hainan Airlines Holdings to provide connecting flights from over 40 major Chinese cities such as Changsha, Chongqing and Hangzhou to Hong Kong via Haikou. This is a mode of multi-stop tourism consumption for leisure and shopping.

In light of the pandemic situation, Meilan Airport will resume, increase or operate new passenger flights from Haikou to Hong Kong, Macao, Southeast Asia, Europe and the United States, etc. in a steady and orderly manner. At the same time, it proactively cooperates with more overseas airlines, publicizes the policy on Hainan Free Trade Port and policy on liberalizing the freedoms of the air, and attracts more airlines to Hainan to launch the seventh freedom business.

In addition to the Haikou-Hong Kong route, Hainan Airlines also plans to resume the Shenzhen-Tel Aviv route on November 29. Up to now, Hainan Airlines has resumed or newly operated 11 round-trip international and regional passenger routes including Beijing-Brussels route and Haikou-Hong Kong route. The flight destinations include Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Serbia, Japan, South Korea and other countries and regions, building a convenient “air bridge” for Chinese and foreign passengers.
