According to reports, before the opening of the Singapore-Sanya international air freight route, the goods of various duty-free shops in Sanya need to be transferred to Guangzhou, Beijing and other places before arriving at Sanya. The whole transportation process is costly, time-consuming and faces great security risks. After the opening of the Singapore-Sanya international air freight route, it will only take about three hours to transport duty-free goods imported, which is advantageous in terms of transportation efficiency, safety, and logistics costs.

In order to meet the needs of international cargo and customs supervision, Sanya Airport has built a new international cargo terminal with a total construction area of 7,000 square meters. The deposit area is equipped with a variety of advanced machinery and equipment, and the cargo and mail support capacity is more than three times that of the original international cargo terminal, providing a solid guarantee for the operation of international cargo flights. On November 28, 2022, the new International Cargo Terminal of Sanya Airport obtained the “Registration Certificate of Warehousing Enterprise for Cargo under Customs Supervision” and relevant operation qualifications.

It is reported that the Singapore-Sanya international air freight route will operate regularly, with two to three flights per week, aiming to import duty-free luxury goods, high-end artworks, and yacht-related products from Singapore to Sanya, and export Sanya’s specialty fruits, vegetables, and other products to Singapore.
