On September 5, Liu Xiaoming, Governor of Hainan Province met with Anna Van Acker, senior vice-president of MSD and president of MSD China.

On behalf of Hainan provincial government, Liu Xiaoming extended a warm welcome to all guests and his gratitude to MSD for following and supporting Hainan Free Trade Port (Hainan FTP) development. Liu Xiaoming introduced the achievements of Hainan FTP. Liu also noted that, the long-standing and increasingly frequent cooperation between MSD and Hainan was a testament to MSD’s strategic vision. With huge development potential and promising market, modern biomedicine industry is a key industry for Hainan. He expressed his wish that the two parties would share the development opportunities of the Hainan FTP, and deepen cooperation in introducing in innovative drugs, real world research, commercialization of innovative drugs and medical devices, as well as local production of products.

Anna Van Acker expressed her optimism on the future of Hainan modern biomedicine industry. MSD will spare no time to strengthen cooperation with Hainan in a sense of responsibility and urgency. With the Hainan FTP policy advantages, MSD will bring the latest drugs and medical devices to China. With a mission of “ saving and improving lives”, MSD will better serve Chinese patients and consumers.
