On February 23, the volunteer recruitment drive for the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2025—scheduled to be held from March 25 to 28 in Bo’ao, Hainan—officially began. The Foreign Affairs Office of Hainan Province plans to select over 200 student volunteers from major foreign-related service teams at universities such as Hainan University and Hainan Normal University.

Since the BFA’s establishment in 2001, more than 10,000 volunteers have participated in supporting services for the Forum’s annual meetings. Unlike other large-scale events, the BFA volunteers are recruited based on their experience in foreign affairs reception, which is essential for assisting representatives from a variety of backgrounds, including politics, business, academia, and the media. This targeted recruitment aims to ensure a more precise, refined, and top-notch reception service.

This year’s recruitment is the first to select volunteers from university teams dedicated to major foreign-related events, with professional teams conducting on-campus interviews. Candidates must pass multiple assessments, including evaluations of their foreign language proficiency and emergency response skills.
