Feng Fei extended a warm welcome to Professor Venzin and his delegation on behalf of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Hainan Province and thanked EHL Group for its long-standing attention and support for Hainan’s education. He noted that EHL Group boasts a long-standing academic excellence, and that the formal inauguration of the Hainan Lausanne Tourism University has become a new symbol and a positive start for further deepening cooperation between China and Switzerland in fields such as education and tourism. He stated that with Hainan Free Trade Port island-wide special customs operations just around the corner, Hainan hopes to deepen exchanges and cooperation with EHL Group and China Communications Construction Group and strive to develop the newly opened university into a leading project for the opening up of China's education sector, a demonstration project for China-Swiss and China-Europe educational cooperation, and a landmark project for the construction of an international tourism consumption center. He added that Hainan will provide high-quality services in areas such as talent and faculty recruitment, practical training and employment, international exchanges, and factor mobility to create favorable conditions for the university's operation.

Markus Venzin thanked Hainan for the help and support provided to EHL Group in establishing the school and enrolling students. He stated that his firm would accelerate the promotion of EHL's globally unified academic system and teaching standards, integrating them with the transformation and upgrading requirements of the Hainan Free Trade Port's tourism industry, and leveraging the HLTU project to expedite the cultivation of globally competitive leading talents in the tourism and hospitality sector.

Chairman of China Communications Construction Group Song Hailiang, Secretary of the CPC Sanya Municipal Committee Wang Qiyang, and Vice Governor of Hainan Province Xie Jing attended the talks.
