Canary Autonomous Region

 

Canary Autonomous Region is made up of seven big islands and many smaller islands. Situated between Europe, South America and Africa, the Canary Islands cover an area of 7,500 square kilometers and have a population of 930,000. As the region is part of the European continent, it has long been the meeting point of the three continents.

Due to its unique location, the Canary Islands are a tax haven and serve as an important trading platform in the EU. In addition, the development of new technology, industrial projects and real estate market provides strong business support for capable financial institutions.

Moreover, the Canary Islands are a popular holiday resort, due to their comfortable climate, picturesque landscape and extending white-sand beaches. The seven islands have different attractions, ranging from picturesque lava hills to swathes of forest that stretch as far as the eye can see. Various construction styles and natural landscapes togther with the rustic local people make tourists linger. Each of the big islands is equipped with an airport as well as hotels, golf courses and yachting clubs. As one of the most popular holiday resorts for Europeans, the Canary Islands receive over 12 million tourist visits each year.
